first of all, let me tell you I’m knitting the bl/wh/gray. I just love the way it looks. So…by HUGE problem is my color change doesn’t lot so hot. I’m a perfectionist and this is driving me crazy. I’ve already taken out the first change. This time I knitted the first stitch in the black and then picked up the white. I forgot to tell you I’m a very experienced knitter so I do know ways around problems. Mi thought knitting that first stitching black would work, but it’s only a little better. I’m one thinking of adding the white by way of the slip knot and work it off and that would be the if for then continue on with the white. I think I’ll try just a sample doing that. Beyond that I don’t know where to go. I’m just really picky, but I do want it to look nice. I will take any suggestions you have. I’m a perfect knitter and people expect that from me. If I can’t get to look great, I will just use the yarn for another scarf pattern. TY for your attention. Bonnie

Bonnie, I have yet to find the perfect join for color changes, but have tried all the techniques in this blog post from tech knitting with good results (http://techknitting.blogspot.com/2007/01/jogless-stripes.html). My favorite technique is to knit the first row of the new color as normal. Then on the second row with the new color, slip the first stitch purl-wise. If you find a better technique with your sample please let me know.
